EURO-DOLLAR: EUR/USD last sits at $1.1346 after finishing yesterday virtually
unchanged.
- The pair posted a knee-jerk spike higher in the London morning after Reuters
cited ECB sources as saying that ECB policymakers are debating ideas for gradual
stimulus withdrawal in 2019 and that some policymakers favour hiking only the
deposit rate at first. EUR/USD subsequently round tripped to session lows of
$1.1311 on broader dollar strength.
- Markets didn't react to ANSA reports that Italy's PM Conte will meet EC Pres
Juncker next week to discuss contentious budgetary matters.
- Bears continue to eye the 200-WMA at $1.1313, just above yesterday's low,
followed by the Nov 30 low at $1.1306. Conversely, initial resistance is located
at yesterday's high and a move through that level would open up the Dec 4/Nov 23
highs of $1.1419/21.
- EZ economic releases this week include EZ GDP & German industrial output due
Friday. Elsewhere, ECB's de Guindos is due to speak later today, while ECB's
Coeure will speak Friday.
