EURO-DOLLAR: EUR/USD last trades at ~$1.1585, adding ~5 pips in the Asia-Pacific
session thus far.
- The pair was relatively stable early on Monday despite political turbulences
in Europe, with broader USD weakness allowing the pair to print a high of
$1.1606 in early NY trade, before the rate consolidated back below the figure.
- Key themes to watch remain unchanged, namely Brexit matters & Italy's budget.
On Oct 18-19 EU leaders meet at a summit supposed to conclude with a divorce
agreement. At the same time, markets await EU's response to Italy's budget
draft, which was submitted to the European Commission on Monday.
- On the tech side, bulls need a close above $1.1600 to shift their focus to the
100-DMA at $1.1628 and bears need a break of the $1.1535 double-bottom area to
target the Oct low at $1.1432.
- The German ZEW survey headlines the EZ data docket on Tuesday.
