Europe must prepare for a scenario of a tight global LNG market, when Asian demand is picking up, OMV CEO, Alfred Stern said.

  • Global LNG demand will only become tighter once demand from Asian economies will pick up, Stern said.
  • “Europe must prepare for this scenario, by realistically evaluating own gas needs, energy production and existing supply contracts,” Stern said.
  • “Despite all the efforts and success in the purchasing, diversifying and storing of gas, I would like to point out very clearly that we are in an exceptionally difficult situation in Europe,” he added.
