EGB SUMMARY: European Council President Donald Tusk has stated that the Irish
border is a top priority and that the EU will not gamble with peace in Ireland.
He further went on to say that the most important task is to prevent a no-deal
Brexit. While certainly making the right noises, a concomitant refusal to
renegotiate the Withdrawal Agreement represents a crucial caveat.
- German bunds have traded in a tight range this morning with long-end yields
near yesterday's close. Current yield levels: 2-year -0.567%, 10-year 0.165%,
30-year 0.772%. The curve is marginally steeper with 2s30s trading up to
133.1bps from a low of 131.3bps.
- French OAT yields have drifted higher with the 10- and 30-year benchmarks
underperforming.
- Italian BTPs have lacked direction with trading in a narrow 2-3bps across much
of the curve. However, the 30-year benchmark has underperformed with the yield
up 5.8bps on the day as a new syndication weighs.
- Euribor futures are flat in whites/reds and 0.5-1.5 ticks higher in
greens/blues
