European Diesel Imports Tick 14% Higher in September m/m

OIL PRODUCTS

Europe is pulling in higher diesel volumes in September mainly due to increased shipments from India and Saudi Arabia.

  • Arrivals in the European Union and the UK are likely to reach 1.1 million barrels a day this month according to Vortexa projections – 14% higher than August.
  • September’s imports are however 276,0000 bpd short of September of last year when Russia was still Europe’s biggest direct supplier.
  • Saudi Arabia led the surge in flows to Europe from the Middle East in September, shipping about 222,000 barrels a day, a three-month high.
  • Arrivals from the US slumped to 128,000 barrels a day, the lowest since April. Flows from Turkey, a key buyer of Russian diesel, plunged to a three-month low of 114,000 barrels a day.
