NATGAS: European Gas Demand In Line with Seasonal Norms

NATGAS

European gas demand looks set to be in line with normal for the end of December with no significant impact to the expected supply-demand balance for the rest of winter according to GFB Insight research.

  • Last week European gas consumption declined by just over 12% compared to the previous seven days, returning in line with seasonal trends, with Poland even seeing a day of net injections into storage.
  • Unlikely attempts to keep Russian gas flows via Ukraine alive are driving markets at present but the remainder of December has seen very little change to fundamentals GFB notes.
