European Gas Gears Up for Norway Maintenance

Norway’s gas sector is about to begin its annual maintenance season, creating a testing time for European gas supplies.

  • Maintenance is due to last for about three weeks from late August, peaking early September.
  • Norway is responsible for about a third of Europe’s gas supply and is the biggest supplier for the region.
  • In previous rounds of maintenance, it’s been common for the schedule to change throughout the process. Prices will likely prove reactive to significant changes.
