European Gasoline Flows to US East Coast Weak Ahead of Summer Driving Season

Arrivals of gasoline and blending components into the US from Europe are arriving at about 227,000 bpd in March, according Vortexa. That’s the first month-on-month drop seen in March since 2017, and the lowest volume since February 2022.

  • European flows typically build at this time of year ahead of the US summer driving season.
  • Firm volumes in PADD 1 supplies and lacklustre US demand have dented import demand, while volatile freight rates have made the arbitrage economics more challenging.
