European PPA Prices Slightly Rise

European power purchased agreements closed slightly higher on 16 May amid PPA prices in major EU PPA markets rising, with solar and wind PPA values also up, according to latest data from energy pricing firm Pexapark.

  • EU PPA prices increased to €48.77/MWh on 16 May from €48.32/MWh the previous day.
  • PPA prices in Germany and France increased by 0.81% and 3.22%, respectively – with France having the highest day-on-day change for any major EU PPA market.
  • PPA prices in the UK were up 1.68%, with values in Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Portugal and the Nordics also higher.
  • Polish PPA recorded the only fall, down 1.16% on the day.
  • Solar PPA prices climbed 1% on the day, with offshore and onshore PPAs up 1.39% and 1.26%, respectively.
