Exports of Russian Refined Fuels Down on Week

Exports of Russian refined fuels fell to 2.6m b/d in the week to Aug. 4, according to Vortexa data, a 14% fall week-on-week.

  • Fuel oil flows jumped to around 1.1m b/d in the 7 days to Aug. 4, the highest weekly flows in 2023.
  • Diesel and gasoil exports fell 18% however, down to 1.1m b/d. Turkey was the main destination for Russian diesel, followed by Brazil.
  • Naphtha shipments during this period halved to 306k b/d, while gasoline and blending components rose slightly to 69k b/d.
  • Russian oil shipments are being closely followed to determine the nation’s crude production as official output data is classified.
  • Export levels overall are coming down from their highest weekly volumes since April, when elevated diesel and gasoil flows boosted shipments.
