Exxon Beaumont Refinery Set for Jan 1 Multi-Unit Turnaround

Exxon’s Beaumont refinery, Texas will begin a multi-unit turnaround from January 1, according to Bloomberg sources.

  • The turnaround will include a hydrocracker and a reformer. It will start maintenance on it second biggest crude unit in June – the 240kbd Crude B unit (June 1-July 14 along with 100kbd VDU).
  • January’s work will last until February 11. It will then take “several days to a week” to restore normal operations after completion according to Bloomberg reports.
  • The January turnaround includes a 70k bpd hydrocracker, an 80k bpd catalytic reformer (called PTR-4) and a 42k bpd catalytic desulferization unit (called CHD 2)
