Exxon’s Hammerhead Guyana Project to Include Gas Pipeline: Bloomberg

  • Exxon Mobil’s seventh Guyana oil development, named Hammerhead, will include a 13-kilometer (8-mile) pipeline that will allow the company to sell some of its associated natural gas production, according to an Environmental Impact Assessment filed with the government.
  • Produced gas will first be used to fuel the project’s floating production storage and offloading vessel, Exxon says.
  • “Remaining gas will be transferred to the Gas-to-Energy pipeline and either sent to shore and/or transferred to the Unity FPSO to enhance Liza oil production.”
  • Hammerhead will produce an annual average of 150,000 b/d of oil and 90 mcf of gas.
  • The project’s FPSO will consume about 10 mcf/d of gas.
  • The upper production limits are 180,000 b/d of oil and 95 mcf of gas.
