UK DATA: Feb Inflation Steady Despite Rising Fuel Costs

Consumer price inflation steadied at just under the Bank of 
England's 2.0% target in February, despite a strong upward push from 
rising fuel prices. The outturn matched the forecast of BoE staff, but 
fell slightly short of the MNI median of a 2.0% rise. Fuel prices rose 
by 1.0% between February and March, after sliding by 1.3% a year 
earlier, adding 0.07 percentage points to the change in annual CPI. The 
rate of inflation did tick slightly higher to 1.91% when taken to two 
decimal places, up from 1.87% in February.
