FERC Approved TC Energy’s Columbia Gas Pipeline Project

FERC approved TC Energy’s Columbia Gas Transmission’s Virginia Reliability Project, an expansion project to replace two existing segments of the pipeline, the company said on Friday.

  • Construction is scheduled to start in 2Q 2024, and commissioning is planned for 1 November 2025.
  • The Columbia Gas Transmission system extends from New York to the Midwest and Southeast, serving as a link between major natural gas basins and major markets.
  • The project aims to replace around 48 miles of the 12-inch diameter pipeline with 24-inch diameter pipeline with a steel pipe and technology.
