POWER: Fingrid Confirms Connection to Picasso Platform on 26 March

Fingrid will connect to the PICASSO trading platform on 26 March 2025, after overcoming technical challenges, it said.

  • This connection will expand Finland's aFRR energy market, facilitating cross-border trading with neighbouring transmission system operators like Estonia’s Elering.
  • aFRR energy trading will use the 350MW Estlink 1 connection, with available transmission capacity allocated dynamically based on system limitations, Fingrid added.
  • Additionally, the PICASSO trading platform will not reserve transmission capacity, but will instead use the available capacity at the time of use.
