Firm SSE Eyes 150MW UK Battery Storage Plant

Developer SSE Renewables has inched closer to the completion of its 150MW battery storage plant in the UK as deliveries of the first battery units have arrived, the firm said today.

  • The installation of the units will continue until late June, with the project fully commissioned at the end of 2024. A total of 136 units will be installed.
  • The plant will be able to store 300MWh and will be located in West Yorkshire- central England.
  • The company is also constructing a 320MW and a 150MW battery plant in the UK.
