First Arctic LNG 2 Cargo Can be Shipped in Feb: Novak

The first cargo of LNG from the Arctic LNG 2 Facility may be shipped in February, Russia’s Deputy PM Alexander Novak said, cited by Interfax.

  • The facility was hit by US sanctions in November and Total confirmed it will not receive cargoes in 2024.
  • Novatek, who hold a 60% stake in the project, declared a force majeure in mid-December on supplies to some customers due to US sanctions.
  • Chinese and Japanese companies asked US authorities to wave sanctions for its exports.
