Fiscal Framework May Be Voted Tomorrow, Lula Attends BRICS Summit

  • Changes to the cabinet are now expected to occur next Monday, following President Lula’s return from the BRICS Summit in South Africa. Despite the delay on the Cabinet adjustments, last week House Speaker Lira said that the Fiscal Framework is still expected to be voted on Tuesday.
  • BCB releases Focus survey with analysts estimates at 1225BST/0725ET. This is the first survey after the significant gasoline hike last week and multiple sell-side firms having to adjust their forecasts for year-end inflation higher to reflect the news.
  • Campos Neto will have an institutional visit to VALOR Economico (1700BST/1200ET). Later he meets with a number of Bank’s CEOs – Banco do Brasil, Itau, Bradesco, Safra, Santander Brasil, XP and the President of Febranban (2030BST/1530ET).
