Flights To Be Restricted From LatAm Neighbours

  • Argentina will tighten border controls amid Latin American virus spike. Commencing on March 27th flights will be restricted from Brazil, Mexico and Chile.
  • IMF officials said on Thursday they had made headway in negotiations with Economy Minister Guzman on a new loan package for the country as it tackles an economic crisis made worse by the pandemic.
    • The discussions between Guzman and Julie Kozack, IMF deputy director for the western hemisphere, and Luis Cubeddu, mission chief for Argentina reached "a common understanding of the need for macroeconomic sustainability and for safeguarding the post-Covid recovery underway," the IMF said in a statement.
  • Separately, today marks deadline for creditors to accept Buenos Aires Province's debt offer.
