FM: Final Nuclear Deal Subject To Tehran's Red Lines, Inc Econ Guarantees

Wires and social media carrying comments attributed to Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian stating that any final nuclear agreement is 'conditional on Iran's red lines, including economic guarantees'.

  • Says that 'the West's hurry will not prevent Iran from adhering to its red lines'.
  • Comes as EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell states that the EU believes that most of Iran's demands have been taken into consideration during the Vienna talks.
  • For several weeks now, figures from Iran, Russia, the US and the E3 (France, Germany, UK) have talked up the prospect of a deal to bring Iran back into compliance with the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPoA, the Iran nuclear deal) being within reach.
  • However, there has been little to no detail of what the new agreed deal might look like, and the rhetoric from Tehran has swung between optimistic towards a deal to decrying Western efforts to allegedly scupper a deal.
