government's prorogation of parliament, the House of Commons returns today. As
it stands the prime minister is due to provide a statement to the House at
1445GMT according to the BBC.
- Ahead of the statement, Johnson has called upon Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn to
back a general election.
- The Dec-19 gilt future trades at 133.95, up 18 ticks from Tuesday's close and
22 ticks off the day's low; L-H: 133.73-134.21.
- Gilts trade a touch firmer on the day. Cash yields (Last / 1d chg / L..H): 2Y
(0.4413% / -0.3bp / 0.4309%...0.4423%); 5Y (0.3648% / -0.9bp /
0.3543%...0.3657%); 10Y (0.512% / -1.3bp / 0.5014%...0.5129%); 30Y (0.9374% /
-1.4bp / 0.927%...0.9388%).
- Short sterling futures have broadly rallied with greens outperforming: W
(broadly + 0.0/2.0 ticks higher); R (+ 2.5/3.5 ticks); G (+ 3.0/3.5 ticks); B (+
3.0/3.5 ticks).
