Foreign Investors Become Largest Net Buyers of Turkish Stocks in a Year

  • Dunya cite the central bank’s weekly securities data as showing that foreign investors have made net purchases of Turkish equities throughout August. They note that Last week’s data showed the highest foreign inflow into the stock market since the week of 19 November 2021.
  • In response to a warning to Turkish businesses that the US could install trade measures if they cooperate with sanctioned Russian companies, Finance Minister Nebati has stated that the business world should not worry, stating that “Turkey is one of the most important political and economic power centers in the world. Our business world should always feel the power of the state with it.”
  • Erdogan appears at a memorial ceremony later today, while a Turkish delegation meet with their Swedish and Finnish counterparts to discuss Turkey’s extradition demands as part of the NATO accession process.
