France Cuts Nuclear Output This Weekend on Low Demand, Renewables

EdF has cut nuclear generation for this weekend amid high renewables output and lower demand, remit data showed.

  • The 1.335GW St Alban 2 reactor will be shut down from Saturday 10:30am CET to Sunday 17:00 CET.
  • 915MW Tricastin 1 will be offline from 01:30AM CET on Saturday until 18:30CET on Sunday.
  • Latest forecast suggested French wind output is forecast at 6.88GW on Saturday and at 2.98GW on Sunday during base load. Solar PV output during peak-load hours is forecast at 4.41GW on Saturday and at 8.23GW on Sunday according to SpotRenewables.
  • Power demand is forecast to peak at 45.03GW on Saturday and at 42.29GW according to RTE.
