MNI BRIEF: US Firms Wary of Tariff-Related Inflation - Fed

MNI (WASHINGTON) - U.S. businesses told the Fed last month they expect modest inflation to continue but that tariffs could boost inflation, according to the Federal Reserve's latest survey of current economic conditions published Wednesday. 

"Prices rose only at a modest pace across Federal Reserve Districts," the report said. "Contacts indicated they expect the current pace of price growth to persist, but businesses in several Districts indicated tariffs pose a significant upside risk to inflation."
