France's Macron-'I Hope In Next Few Days JCPoA Will Be Concluded'

French President Emmanuel Macron has stated in a speech to French ambassadors in Paris, "I hope that in the next few days the JCPoA [Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the Iran nuclear deal] will be concluded".

• In August, the EU presented a draft final deal seeking to bring the US back into the deal and Iran back into compliance. Later in the month, Washington, D.C.'s notes on the draft were sent back to the EU, and then onto Tehran for review.
• Since then, there has been little concrete information on either side's stance towards a deal that could see sanctions on the Iranian economy and hydrocarbons sector lifted in exchange for Tehran scaling back its nuclear programme.
