France’s Montoir LNG Terminal Restart Delayed Again: Platts

LNG

Maintenance work at the Montoir LNG terminal in Frace has been extended until Aug. 19, Elengy said, cited by Platts.

  • Sendout from Montoir was initially halted June 15 for planned maintenance, with operations expected to restart July 8. However, the terminal’s restart has been delayed several times due to safety reasons.
  • The delayed restart has added some support to France’s PEG gas hub.
  • One of the main unknowns is why the terminal has been offline for so long and why its restart has been delayed several times, Platts said.
  • The outage at Montoir pushed French LNG imports to their lowest since Aug. 2021 in July at 866k mt.
