US: Franklin Templeton said noted emerging mkt investor Mark Mobius will retire
from the firm on Jan. 31st, 2018. He joined the firm under the late Sir John
Templeton in 1987, starting one of the first mutual funds dedicated to emerging
markets, then oversaw the firm's emerging markets team from 1987-2016, and also
"frontier" markets.
- The firm's Stephen Dover, chief investment officer of Templeton Emerg. Mkts
Group, now will handle day-to-day management of the group; other senior members
will handle day-to-day funds management, it said.
