Freddie Mac 30Y Mortgage Rate Highest Since 2007

  • The Freddie Mac average 30Y mortgage rate leapfrogs yesterday’s 27bp increase in the MBA rate with a 41bp weekly jump to 6.7%.
  • It’s up 104bps in Sept and stretches the spread to Treasuries whilst just 10bps off the 2006 high.
  • Consistent with the surge in rates, the range of quotes has more than doubled over the last year.
