LNG: Freeport Resumes Following Power Outage

LNG

Freeport LNG resumes shipments after power outage Kpler tracking indicates. Markets had been keeping a close eye on the terminal which is notoriously unreliable during restarts.

  • The 15 mtpa Freeport LNG terminal in Texas, whose shutdown last week due to a power outage caused delays to LNG deliveries, has now resumed shipments.
  • According to Kpler data, the 173,400 m3 Flex Endeavour left the terminal with 72,575 t of LNG on Jan. 26, marking the first shipment since the terminal’s shutdown.
  • The 173,400 m3 British Listener is currently berthed at the terminal, while two others - 174,000 m3 Grace Freesia and 177,000 m3 Sohshu Maru - are idling nearby.
  • Feed gas flows appear to have rebounded to pre-shutdown levels as of Jan. 26, suggesting a production restart, although Freeport has not yet confirmed this.
  • The return takes pressure off European gas markets adding some downward pressure on TTF.
