French power week-ahead base load is sliding amid high solar PV output, stable nuclear generation, and lower demand due to public holiday on 20 May.

  • The German equivalent is trading at a sharp premium of €33.96/MWh today.
  • French power demand is expected to rise to a maximum of 50.39GW next week, compared with a maximum of 50.67GW this week according to Entso-E.
  • France and several other European countries have public holiday on 20 May.
  • Solar PV output in France is expected to remain high next week at 6.59-8.14GW during peak-load hours on 20-22 May.
  • Wind output is forecast to slide next week to 1.3-1.8GW during base-load hours according to spotrenewables.
