POWER: French Spot Power to Rise on Wind, Demand

The French spot power index is expected to rise with forecasts for lower wind output and higher demand, diverging from the German market. France March power is edging higher with colder weather in early March.
- France Base Power MAR 25 up 0.5% at 78.68 EUR/MWh
- EUA DEC 25 up 0.4% at 72.01 EUR/MT

- Mean temperatures in Paris are forecast to decrease to 6C on Thursday, from 7C on Wednesday and below the seasonal average.
- Power demand in France is forecast to rise to 61.10GW on Thursday, up from 59.48GW on Wednesday according to Bloomberg.
- Wind output in France is forecast to decrease to 5.27GW during base load on Thursday, down from 9.48GW on Wednesday according to SpotRenewables.
- Residual load in France is forecast to increase to 52.09GWh/h on Thursday, up from 46.59GWh/h on Wednesday according to Reuters.
- France’s hydro balance has been revised slightly lower on the day to end at -4.27TWh on 12 March, from -4.3TWh the day earlier.
