Full Shutdown from LNG Strike in Australia Unlikely: ICIS

LNG

Strike action at Chevron’s Gorgon and Wheatstone LNG plants in Australia is unlikely to cause full shutdowns, according to ICIS.

  • This is due to the complexities and timescale required to complete such a process.
  • Industrial action could begin from September 7, after workers voted for industrial action.
  • Gorgon and Wheatstone have produced around 6% of global LNG imports so far in 2023, all to destinations in Asia and mainly to Japan.
