ECB: Further Q&A:
2 Qs from MNI: Does he think his calls for fiscal policy is being listened to
and how much is needed? Fiscal policies are intertwined and spill over from one
country to another. No central fiscal policy yet. Question has to do with
governance of institution. Present fiscal stance is mildly expansionary. If
fiscal policy expanded governance issues are key.
- Why does the ECB does QE in non-transparent policy in contrast to reverse
auctions in other countries? Part of the design was introduced years ago. Was
thought following reverse auction system was not suitable in the Eurozone. A
matter of technical ease.
