Futures A Little Steeper Overnight, NSW COVID Matters Eyed

AUSSIE BONDS

Futures finished the overnight session a touch steeper, YM unchanged and XM -2.0, with the former likely supported by the NSW COVID situation, while the latter softened a touch on the back of the modest cheapening witnessed in the U.S. Tsy space.

  • Focus will continue to fall on the domestic COVID situation, with speculation surrounding an extension of the current lockdown covering Sydney rife (some are looking for a 4-6 week extension from this coming Friday).
  • The monthly NAB business survey provides the domestic highlight on Tuesday, while participants also eye the release of the latest round of monthly trade data out of China.
