Futures Firmer Overnight

AUSSIE BONDS

Futures firmed during overnight trade, YM +2.5 & XM +5.0 come the close, with the bid in U.S. Tsys spilling over.

  • The NSW COVID situation will continue to be scrutinised, while expectations are building re: some deeper restrictions being introduced in the state of Victoria (although a lockdown doesn't seem to be in the offing, per local reports).
  • Elsewhere, the release of the monthly labour market report will provide the most interest on the domestic docket, while the latest round of scheduled ACGB purchases from the RBA are also due to be conducted. Further afield, the latest quarterly GDP and monthly economic activity data out of China could provide some offshore impetus.
