Futures Recover From Lows Overnight, Rinban Due

JGBS

JGB futures finished the overnight session 10 ticks below Tokyo settlement levels, although a rally in U.S. Tsys managed to drag the contract away from worst levels after EGBs drove wider core global FI weakness in the early rounds of overnight session trade.

  • There hasn’t been much in the way of meaningful domestic headline news flow to digest, with recently released comments from BoJ Governor Kuroda offering little in the way of fresh meaningful information, as he stressed the need for continued accommodative monetary policy
  • Today’s local docket is headlined by retail sales data and BoJ Rinban operations covering 3- to 25-Year JGBS.
