Gasoline and Distillate Demand Increase Ahead of Holiday Weekend

Weekly data showed an increase in US distillate and gasoline implied demand ahead of the Memorial day holiday weekend. Weekly gasoline demand rose 6% on the week as retailers stock up ahead of the holiday. Despite the increase, the four week average demand remained relatively unchanged on the week and still low for the time of year.

  • Distillate weekly implied demand showed a 12% increase on the week with the four week average also rising as an encouraging sign for US economic activity.
