Gasoline Prices to Fall, Diesel to Increase in May

  • Price of gasoline in South Africa to decrease by 12 cents per liter, representing the first decrease in four months.
    • Wholesale price of diesel with 0.05% sulfur content will increase by 98 cents per liter and for fuel with a 0.005% sulfur content it will rise by 92 cents per liter
    • Prices were affected by average international product prices and the rand’s appreciation against the dollar
    • With so-called Self-Adjusting Slate Levy Mechanism, the Slate Levy of 52.62 cents per liter has not been changed
