CHINA PRESS
CHINA PRESS: GDP growth in 2018 is expected to be around 6.5%, driven by
overseas demand and domestic consumption, Fan Jianping, chief economist of the
State Information Center, an agency run by the National Development and Reform
Commission, said Thursday during a financial forum in Shanghai, the Shanghai
Securities News reported. The economy will continue a "L-shape" path, held back
by controls on the property market and rising funding costs. Producer prices
will increase 3.5% while CPI is expected to grow 2.5% next year. Monetary policy
will be more neutral, while the yuan exchange rate will be volatile in a range
of 6.5 to 6.9 to the U.S. dollar, Fan predicted. (Shanghai Securities News)
