German Industry Seeks Gas Cut Exemptions

Germany’s gas network regulator, responsible for upcoming gas rationing in the event of emergencies, has received requests from industry for exemptions.

  • "An application procedure is not foreseen. The Federal Network Agency continues to receive numerous letters from virtually all sectors," BNetzA said, adding "Blanket exemptions are not provided for in the current law,".
  • Germany is at stage 2 of a 3 stage alert system for gas security while flows through Nord Stream 1 remain at 20% capacity.
