German June Base-Peak Spreads Widens Amid Solar

The German June power base-peak load spread is widening today to a new high of €5.10€/MWh as forecasts for high solar PV output in Germany are pressuring peak-load prices.

  • Germany Peak Power JUN 24 down 0.9% at 60.5 EUR/MWh
  • The German June power base-peak load spread averaged €2.71/MWh so far this month.
  • Germany: Solar for 17-25 May during peak load: 15.12GW, 21.72GW, 23.33GW, 26.74GW, 18.41GW, 15.18GW, 18.35GW, 15.48GW, 17.01GW
  • German day-ahead prices for Mon-Wed delivery this week moved into negative territory for several peak-load hours amid record-high solar PV output.
  • Solar PV output in Germany stood at 4.67TWh so far this month, Fraunhofer ISE data showed.
