German PMIs Provide Some Counter To French Equivalent

BUNDS

As mentioned elsewhere, the firmer than expected flash German PMI suite (albeit with manufacturing still sub-40) provided some counter to the bid derived from the weak round of French equivalents.

  • That knocked Bund futures off bests after a move to the highest levels seen since Monday.
  • Bund futures last +30, still above pre-French PMI prints, but ~30 ticks off highs.
  • German cash benchmarks are running 1.5-3.0bp richer on the day, with the wings lagging. The pullback from yesterday’s multi-year high in Bund yields extends.
