German Weekly Gas Demand Fell 25.6% Below Average

German natural gas consumption last week stood 25.6% below the 2018-2021 average, weighed on by temperatures above the seasonal norm, Bnetza data showed.

  • Natural gas consumption from the industry rose 8.2% above 2022 levels to 1.28TWh/d last week. Demand remained 23.3% below the 2018-2021 average.
  • Demand from households and small businesses stood at 941GWh/d last week, compared with 757GWh/d last year. Consumption continued to lag the 2018-21 average by 28.4% last week.
