Germany-Austria Jao Monthly June Auction Allocates More Capacity

The monthly Jao CBC auction for June delivery between Germany and Austria concluded today, with offered capacity increasing in both directions according to Jao.

  • Germany offered 3.135GW in the direction of Austria for June delivery, matching the allocated capacity. The price declined to €1.51/MWh.
  • Last month, Germany offered 3.075GW of capacity in the direction of Austria with the entire capacity allocated at €1.86/MWh.
  • Austria offered 2.049GW of capacity for June delivery in the direction of Germany, matching the allocated capacity at a slightly higher price of €4.1/MWh.
  • For May delivery, Austria offered and allocated 2.029GW of capacity to Germany at €4.06/MWh.
  • German front-month power base-load prices have flipped to a premium to the Austrian market since early April. Germany June power base load is currently holding onto a premium of €4.11/MWh to the Austrian market as of yesterday’s close.
