German Regulator sets discount at LNG entry points for greater security of supply

  • The Federal Network Agency has set a discount of 40 percent at feed-in points from LNG plants. The discount applies for annual and quarterly capacity products from 2023 according to their website.
  • The discount to feed gas from LNG terminals into the transmission system is aimed at speeding up the LNG infrastructure expansion in Germany. Klaus Müller, President of the Federal Network Agency said "We are reducing conceivable obstacles to the rapid development of an LNG infrastructure in Germany.”
  • The Federal Network Agency said they support the Federal Government's goal of realizing LNG terminals in the short term.
