GGB Spreads Close At Tightest To Bunds And BTPs Since 2022

GREECE

Greek yields fell only modestly today (2bp), but the double-digit rise in Bund yields brought 10Y GGB spreads to the lowest close since January 2022 at just under 175bp. Also closed 15bp inside 10Y BTPs, the biggest differential since Jul 2022.

  • Haven't seen any headlines driving the move today but the respective spreads have been moving in Greece's favour since Tuesday when it projected primary surpluses of 2+% of GDP for 2024-2026 - seen as assisting a return to investment-grade status. The May 21 election is increasingly in focus as well.
