GGB Spreads Off Of Recent Tights Ahead Of DBRS Update

EGBS

A quick reminder that DBRS Morningstar is scheduled to provide the latest update on Greece’s credit rating (current rating: BB (high), Stable Trend) after hours on Friday.

  • There are relatively widely held expectations for a move to IG status, even with the current 'Stable Trend' designation apparent.
  • Greece's fiscal trajectory and the centre-right's victory in the country’s national elections has titled the optics in that direction, as has IG attainment at lower tier ratings agencies Scope & R&I.
  • The attainment of IG status at DBRS Morningstar would not result in GGB inclusion across the major bond indices, as we have flagged on several occasions in recent weeks/months.
  • 10-Year GGB/Bund & GGB/BTP spreads operate off of cycle tights ahead of the scheduled update from DBRS .
