GILT SUMMARY: Gilts are near their day`s lows in a day characterised by
nonchalance towards escalating US-China trade tensions.
- As a risk-on attitude gained steam globally throughout the day, Gilts
softened, with the Dec 18 Gilt future down 26 ticks at 121.15, having traded in
a range of 121.10-121.55 today.
- The curve has bear steepened, with the 2-Yr yield unchanged at 0.82%, 5-Yr up
1.4bps at 1.151%, 10-Yr up 3.1bps at 1.567%, and 30-Yr up 3.4bps at 1.911%.
- Short Sterling futures are a little weaker, with Green and Blue contracts off
1 tick each.
- Data flow picks up Wednesday with CPI/PPI data for August.
- Attention later this week on the Salzburg summit of EU leaders.
