GILT SUMMARY: Gilts have weakened slightly so far Friday, with PM May appearing
to staunch the bleeding within her government for now.
- The Dec-18 Gilt future is down 36 ticks at 122.82, having traded in a range of
122.78-123.20.
- PM May has found support within her cabinet from Brexiteer Michael Gove
amongst others, though the Telegraph reported that the so-called 1992 committee
now have the 48 letters needed for a vote of no confidence against May.
- This vote could take place early next week, with Tuesday reportedly an option.
- The 2-Yr yield is up 2.6bps at 0.731%, 5-Yr is up 3.6bps at 0.959%, 10-Yr is
up 3.4bps at 1.407%, and 30-Yr is up 4.6bps at 1.974%.
- No key data or BOE speakers Friday, but the market will continue to watch for
cabinet resignations and the potential withdrawal of DUP government support.
