GILT SUMMARY: Gilts open lower, with the yield curve shifting around 1bp higher,
as markets fade yesterday afternoons flight-to-quality bid. While some hope of
progress at the Brexit talks in Brussels is also seen weighing, with talk of
more "concrete proposals being offered by the UK.
- There could be more clarification from London as well as Prime Minster Theresa
May meets with European Council President Donald Tusk later today.
- On the economic front, data is a little thin on the ground, however, UK
Finance release latest mortgage lending for August at 0930BST, with consensus
seeing a slight rise to 41.7k from 41,587 in July.
- It has been a slow start so far Tuesday with 10-year yield 1.1bp higher at
1.346%, according to Tradeweb.
- While both swap spreads and breakevens are little changed as markets await
next directional move.
